Environmental Analyst — Milan (Closed)
ENV-ISA is expanding its Milan team and is looking for a motivated Environmental Analyst to join our technical practice. You will work on noise, emissions, and air quality modelling for aviation clients worldwide, help develop the tools and methods we bring to those clients, and, as the role grows, take part in the client conversations that turn technical work into new business. This is a hands-on, analytical role with room to build client-facing skills over time.
Location
Milan, Italy (on-site / hybrid per team arrangement)

Level
Open to candidates from recent graduates with strong technical aptitude through 5 years of experience
Main Responsabilities
- Conduct noise, emissions, and air quality modelling for aviation projects (airports, airlines, and related stakeholders)
- Analyse data and prepare clear, decision-ready reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Support the development of internal tools and methodologies used across our service lines (e.g. noise/emissions modelling, carbon and ESG reporting tools)
- Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to keep projects on track and on scope
- Join client calls and contribute to proposals and pitches alongside senior team members
Who You Are
- You have a technical or quantitative background — Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related quantitative field (e.g. Engineering, Physics, Applied Math, Data Science). You don’t need to already be a noise/emissions specialist; you need to be comfortable learning technical domains quickly.
- You’re comfortable digging into datasets, building or adapting models, and turning numbers into a clear story.
- You can pick up new technical tools and methods on the job rather than needing them fully specified upfront.
- You communicate clearly and confidently — comfortable presenting your work and occasionally joining client conversations alongside senior colleagues.
- 0–5 years of relevant experience
- Motivated by the aviation sector
Skills & Experience
- Exposure to mathematical or statistical modelling
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, and a genuine interest in data crunching
- Programming skills in Python and/or Matlab (able to read, adapt, and write scripts)
- Confident using AI-powered analytics and agentic tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) to accelerate technical and analytical tasks
- Experience with GIS is an advantage but not required
- Project Management skills are an advantage
- Confident written and spoken English
- Italian language skills an advantage but not mandatory
- Comfortable presenting ideas and results to others; prior client-facing or presentation experience is a plus, not a requirement
Salary Range: RAL between 32,000€ and 45,000€ – CCNL Commercio

Flight Data Analyst (Internship) (Closed)
We are looking for a Flight Data Analyst to join our team for a 6-month curricular internship, either part-time (20 hours/week) or full-time (40 hours/week). If you have a strong background in data science, physics, or aerospace engineering, and want to use AI in a practical setting to help the aviation sector reduce its environmental footprint, join us!
This position serves as an excellent stepping stone for a future career as a Flight Data Scientist, Aerospace ML Research Engineer, or Performance Engineer, with the possibility to transition into the environmental aviation sector.
Candidates pursuing a Master’s degree in Data Science, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a closely related field are encouraged to apply.
Main Responsabilities
- Interface with a flight simulation software to extract, clean, and normalize time-series data.
- Design and implement regression-based deep learning models (TCN or Physics-Informed Neural Networks) to map input state vectors to specific aerodynamic outputs
- Experiment with hyperparameter tuning, loss function customization, and regularization techniques to ensure the model generalizes well across the flight envelope
- Analyze the uncertainties of the estimates to assess the extent to which the developed method reduces uncertainties compared to traditional methods of estimating noise and emissions.
- Write robust Python scripts to automate data generation
Skills / Qualifications
Technical
- Core Programming: Strong proficiency in Python (numpy, pandas, matplotlib) is mandatory.
- ML Frameworks: Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow/Keras. You must understand the underlying math of backpropagation and gradient descent.
- Theoretical Knowledge: Basic understanding of physics or aerodynamics is a strong plus (e.g., understanding vectors, forces, and kinematics)
Professional
- Ability to read complex technical documentation and translate it into robust code.
- High attention to detail regarding data integrity and scientific rigor.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Listening, communication abilities, and strong team spirit.
Required Background
- Ongoing Master’s degree in Data Science, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related field (this is a curricular internship for thesis purposes).
- Proficiency in English, with strong skills in understanding, speaking, and writing.

- Conduct environmental studies (for direct clients) to reduce the impact of their activities on the environment.
- Assist clients in calculating their carbon footprint (GHG Protocol methodology)
- Research and propose new solutions to optimize energy consumption and reduce environmental impact, particularly carbon emissions.
- Write research reports and summarize results.
- Contribute to the establishment and evolution of monitoring and performance indicators, as well as internal files/processes.
